BENEFITING: Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech
ORGANIZER: Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
Thank you for visiting my crowdrise page! I did not think I would be running another New York Marathon, but I found some excellent motivation to get me through the countless hours and miles of training and preparation.
I am honored to be running the 2016 New York City Marathon to support the Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech, a terrific organization that has done so much for family and friends. Clarke's mission is to provide children who are deaf or hard of hearing with the listening, learning, and spoken language skills they need to succeed through schools in Boston, Jacksonville, New York, Northampton and Philadelphia and also via teleservices.
I was first introduced to the organization in New York through my wife's work as a cochlear implant audiologist. Clarke opened its Manhattan location in 1999 and is providing services to children from birth to age 5 from all 5 boroughs and through early intervention, preschool, mainstreaming, speech and language, and evaluation services. The center has been a wonderful part of our lives for all they do and have done for our children, friends, and our children's friends and families.
My goal is to raise at least $4,000. 100% of the funds I raise will support educational and parent-infant programs for families of children with hearing loss. Your gift, big or small, will go towards helping a child's dreams come true.
