Why is this critical?
Witnessing genocide survivors give first hand accounts of their experiences creates a human side of history for the viewer that cannot be replicated in textbooks.
Descendants of Survivors of the Armenian Genocide, Survivors of the Holocaust, and Survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda have personal stories to tell and histories to share in a way that only they can.
When the Survivors are no longer with us, their stories will still move us. Read more...
Chhange seeks to preserve these histories of unrecorded genocide survivors and their descendants. This will ensure that future generations can see the survivors’ faces, hear their voices, listen to their stories, learn their life lessons, understand the human experience, and be inspired to hopefully help to prevent genocide.
The process of recording, editing and transcribing/subtitling survivor testimonials is essential to preserve their histories, and time is of the essence. Help us preserve a Survivor’s Legacy!
