Cardboard City Sleep Out
EVENT DATE: Apr 19, 2013
The Cardboard City Sleep Out is an all-night outside event to raise awareness about homelessness in our communities and raise money for initiatives working to end homelessness in the Greater Hartford region. Spend the night outside in recognition of those who don't have a home to go to at night. The goal of the Sleep Out is to raise awareness about homelessness in our communities among people of all knowledge levels and backgrounds. Participants will leave the Sleep Out not only with increased awareness about homelessness in their community, but also with the toolkit they need to act on what they have learned.
Activities include an Oxfam Hunger Banquet, Community Organizing Training, Panel discussion with people experiencing homelessness, Candlelight Vigil, and much more!
All donations will go to support the initiatives of Journey Home, a nonprofit organization working collaboratively for sustainable solutions to homelessness in the Greater Hartford region
