I will be traveling to Tamale, Ghana this summer to participate with Community Water Solutions in their pursuit to bring clean water to communities in Ghana.
CWS implements sustainable water businesses in communities of the developing world. In the Northern Region of Ghana, where the CWS fellowship takes place, over half of the population lacks access to safe drinking water, leading to high child mortality rates and widespread waterbourne disease.
The goals of CWS are to implement community-level water treatment businesses in communities of the developing world that:
- are run by members of the community
- provide clean water for residents of that community
- generate economic growth and
- empower women in the community.
CWS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. All donations are tax-decuctible to the extent allowed by the law.
