BENEFITING: CHICAGO PARKS FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: CHICAGO PARKS FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Oct 11, 2015
Hi Family and Friends!
I have been a distance runner since I was in the sixth grade. Running a marathon (and qualifying for the Boston) has been on my bucket list for a long time. For the 26.21875 mile run on October 11, 2015 in Chicago, my goal finish time is 3 hours and 5 minutes (qualifying time), but I am hoping to run under 3 hours!
During all my years of running, I have benefited from public parks and running spaces; I have listed some of my favorites below! I wanted to raise money for this run and I liked the idea of being able to run for the Chicago Parks Foundation. Chicago Parks manages the 580 parks in Chicago and the 18 miles of Lakefront Trail, which I know so many of you have also benefited from over the years!
My goal is to raise $2,621.87 (plus 0.5 cents)! Your support would really mean a lot to me. Hope I can get it done! Quoting the words from a recent best man speech I heard..."I got this!"
My favorite places to run...
Chicago: Lakefront Trail, Greene Valley Forest Preserve, Lincoln Park
Atlanta: Piedmont Park, Chattahoochee River Trail, Stone Mountain Trail, Silver Comet Trail
Philadelphia: Schuylkill River Trail, Wissahickon, Delaware River Waterfront
New York City: Prospect Park, Central Park, Manhattan East River Run
San Francisco: Golden Gate Park, Marin Headlands, Kesar Stadium Track, Great Highway (Ocean Beach Trail), Lands End Trail
