Join me in supporting the protection of breeding habitat for birds in the Central flyway!
One Night, One Thousand Dinners! Gather to Gab, Gather to Give!
Your donations wil go to help protect and care for habitat for birds like the Piping Plover, the Northern Pintail, American Wigeon and many more! Every dollar donated will be quadrupled.
A small pale shorebird of open sandy beaches and alkali flats, the Piping Plover is found along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, as well as inland in the northern Great Plains. Because of disturbance by people, all populations are considered endangered or threatened.
The northern pintail is a duck that breeds primarily in Canada in North America*. It is a migratory bird of open wetlands which nests on the ground. In the 2014 State of the Birds Report the Northern Pintail was listed as one of the 33 U.S. common bird species in steep decline. Estimates indicate they have lost more than half their global population over the past four decades. *(as well as northern parts of Europe and Asia).
