EVENT DATE: May 20, 2021
Melody Richards had the dreaded knock at her door. In one instant, her world came to a screeching halt as the police officer informed her that her daughter had not survived a car accident. What followed were many weeks and months of looking for resources to help her and her family find a way to cope. While there were support groups here and there, she found no continual support for herself, her other children, or her parents whom were mourning her loss and the loss of their oldest granddaughter. When Melody met with us, her words were "I would have done anything for that police officer to hand me your card. I was drowning and I needed a lifeline."
Brighter Days Grief Center is that lifeline for grieving families. We are a Minnesota based nonprofit organization serving individuals anticipating or enduring the death of a beloved family member. Although we are a Grief Center providing necessary services and resources, we are so much more than that at our core. We are a community of families and professionals turned into staff, board and volunteers that are bound together by our own experiences.
Please join us for a 5K Run/Walk to Remember as we come together to honor the ones we love and miss so dearly. This is NOT a timed race; you may run or walk at your own pace!
Each paying participant will receive a free t-shirt. Corporate or personal fundraising teams welcome!
We will have resource tables, face-painting, local author book-signings, lawn yoga, coffee, donuts, special tributes, and more.
Bring a picture of your loved one to add to our memorial project for our center; this will be a collaborative effort with local artists and volunteers.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Sydney M. Galleger Foundation.
