Bridging the Gap (BTG) is an educational program based on the core principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) that provides an appropriate and productive classroom placement for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This series of transitional classrooms prepares students to transition into mainstream or inclusion based classrooms, as well as targets group and social skills within a classroom environment. With an individualized curriculum approach to teaching academics and a focus on appropriate classroom behavior and interactions, teachers are able to provide an active and educational experience for all students.
BTG started out as a single class of 6 children, with the goal of targeting classroom skills over 8 weeks during the summer. We are now in our 4th school year, with 4 classrooms and 32 students currently being served by the BTG program. As BTG teachers (both past and present) we want to invite you to help support BTG and Project HOPE Foundation in the upcoming Hope Relay. We will be running and walking in honor of all of our amazing students and we hope you will support us with either a financial contribution or by participating with us!
