BENEFITING: FRIENDS OF BRAILLE WITHOUT BORDERS INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 07, 2010
Braille Without Borders was started in Lhasa, the capital of China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, to give access to blind children in Tibet. The whole idea behind this project is to empower blind people from developing countries, so they themselves can set up projects and schools for other blind people. This way, the concept can be spread across the globe and more blind and visually impaired people have access to education and a better future.
The Team was set up after Francesco’s visit to Lhasa in June this year. Seeing with so much love and dedication the project rescued children from a life of misery and illiteracy in the most remote areas of Tibet inspired him to start a New York Marathon fundraiser to support Braille Without Borders. Michail and Jean-Luc enthusiastically joined the Team.
The New York City Marathon is an all-favorite marathon. Our Team wants to remember it not for breaking our PRs but for being part of an important project. This will be our goal on November 7.
You can join in this campaign by making a small donation. Any amount will do – even 10 euros or 10 dollars will help us reach our goal. Thank you for your generous support!
