BENEFITING: American Cancer Society
EVENT DATE: Nov 12, 2016
I am so excited for this event. As my Mom recently has passed after a 3 year battle with Sarcoma Cancer , this is going to be a year of firsts for me. Most days these firsts seem pretty sad and I cant find a way to look forward to them. But this is going to be a first I can do with a different feeling. This is the first walk in honor of my Mom. This is the first year I can raise money in my Moms honor to help in the fight agianst cancer. This is the year i can show the strength she taught me my entire life. This first is for you Mom!!
Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers who give of their time and effort because they believe it's time to take action against cancer.
This year the Relay For Life of Chico is kicking off the 2017 Season with a "Colors of Cancer - 3K Color Run/Walk". This is a fun run/walk event for the whole family, team or group, benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Chico.
At 9:30 a.m. we will hold a Relay For Life Kickoff welcoming our teams to the 2017 Relay For Life event including a Celebration of Color to honor our Cancer Survivors and Military Personnel.
At 10:00 am the Color run/walk begins. The Relay For Life Event Team thought a color run is the perfect event to raise awareness and money towards the fight against cancer. Throughout the route we will highlight different cancer colors at various color stations. You will be splattered with color and by the time you cross the finish line you will be displaying the "Colors of Cancer". We will have something for the whole family at this event including games for the kids, food, music, selfie station and lots more.
The American Cancer Society 2017 Relay For Life of Chico will be held on May 6 & 7, 2017 at Pleasant Valley High School. Our event unites cancer patients, survivors and caregivers in the fight against cancer.
