Celebrate Beats to Beat Breast Cancer on October 19, 2014 with a donation to The American Association for Cancer Research and Sisters Network® Inc. These organizations are both committed to increasing local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has within the African American community.
When she was only 35 years old, I lost my mother, Tracy, to a 14-month battle with breast cancer. She inspired me to not only live a life of passion and purpose, but to also dedicate my talents to preventing the impacts of this devastating disease. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among African American women. An estimated 27,060 new cases of breast cancer are expected to occur in 2015 among African American women especially younger women (under age 45), and the mortality rate of breast cancer is higher in African American women than other cultures.
In honor of my mother and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, my celebrity DJ friends and I are hosting the 1st Annual "Beats to Beat Breast Cancer" – a music-based fundraiser on Sunday October 19th in Los Angeles. We’ve invited some of Hollywood’s most dynamic DJs to curate an afternoon of Beats to Beat Breast Cancer!
The American Association for Cancer Research and The Sisters Network® Inc are both 501(c) non profits committed to breast cancer awareness, research and prevention. Please join us in helping reach our Beats to Beat Breast Cancer fundraising goal of $10,000!
Please know that no donation is too small! Every contribution helps aid in finding a cure and all donations are tax deductible. For your convenience, please donate to our Crowdrise account at www.crowdrise.com/beatstobeatbreastcancer
Thank you in advance for your support and contribution to Beats to Beat Breast Cancer!
