THE STORY:

Until 5th December, the Skoll Foundation is match-funding donations to BasicNeeds.  Please donate and send me an idea for my Advent Challendar...

In exchange for a donation to BasicNeeds, you can set me a small challenge, anything you like as long as it's sort of reasonable and essentially decent.  I'm going to select a challenge at random each morning throughout advent, and will attempt to complete it by the end of the day. I'll be posting photos on instagram as evidence.

All challenges are welcome, although just to warn you I have no intention of doing anything that gets me arrested, sacked, dumped or bankrupted.

Chris

Take me somewhere brilliant in London I have never heard of. I would also like you to blow up that deflated pregnancy ball in the corner of the living roomxx 5 years ago

We'd like you to make a short speech at Speaker's corner on one of the following subjects: 1. Why Tarka the Otter is NOT dead. 2. Why otters are better than beavers. 3. The physical & psychological benefits of wearing a Panda Hat (whilst wearing a panda hat). Extra points if your speech involves playing the ukulele/singing. Good luck! Xx 5 years ago

I didn't read the instructions so I guess I have to make a second (willing) donation to set my challenge. Chris, I challenge you to find a willing partner and recreate the Tony Blair - Cherie Booth Christmas card, paying particular attention to replicating the facial expressions: http://bit.ly/1Af468i Note that neither role is prescribed. You must also post the image to social media (obviously) and send at least five hard copies to friends or family on your Christmas card list. If you don't usually send them - you will this year. 5 years ago

Excellent charity - my challenge is pretty simple, a cold water swim in one of the London's unheated Lido's; Brockwell, Parliament Hill, Hampstead Ponds, take your pick! 5 years ago

For the benefit of your colleagues both of these challenges should take place on a work day... 1. Speak in song ALL day; 2. Come to work dressed as either a) santa b) in drag or c) a drag santa... Good luck! 5 years ago

We've given this some thought. First, acquire an Ergo or similar baby carrier (if possible - alternatively, a sturdy scarf will do). Second, acquire a watermelon (a sturdy scarf will not do). You will spend the day, please, carrying the watermelon in the scarf/carrier "as practice". The climax of the day (also as practice??) will then be 10 minutes spent in the proximity of a major London transport hub, serenading passing commuters with Chris de Burgh classic Lady in Red. (with, obviously, 30 minutes warning to us, and all of those on your original email, that the performance is about to commence) And you're done!!! Well done Chris! xx 5 years ago
