Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has been my "home" since 2001. I started at BIDMC as a young nursing student and fell in love with the culture and comradery of the hospital. I soon began to call BIDMC my hospital.
In 2004, I furthered my career at BIDMC in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I didn't realize at the time how much I would love and respect what it means to be a nurse in this very specialized field. If you have ever been in the BIDMC NICU or simply know someone that has had a premature baby, you know that this is a very special place to be. Whether a baby is born premature, weighing just over one pound, or a full term infant needing extra supportive measures, the bottom line is the same: miracles can be witnessed on a daily basis.
The BIDMC NICU provides some of the best care in the city! With the strong collaboration of all team members we are able to provide seamless, well coreograhed care. All team members genuinely share the same goal. The goal to provide the best care for all babies and their families. I am continuely proud to say I am part of this incredible team!
This April, I will be running the Boston Marathon with my team. Team BIDMC. I will again be raising funds on behalf of the NICU. The love and support I recieved from my friends, family, and former NICU graduates for my first marathon was beyond my imagination last year! I thank you. My collegues thank you. More importantly, the babies thank you! Please consider showing your support again by donating to a fund that has always been near and dear to my heart. With a personal goal of raising $8,000 I have no doubt you will all help get me there! No amount is ever to small. Please consider donating what ever you can.
Thank you for all of your ongoing support! It truly means the world to me!
