BENEFITING: American Red Cross
ORGANIZER: American Red Cross Massachusetts Region
EVENT: 2016 Boston Marathon
I am very excited and humbled to share with you the news that I have accepted a challenge from the American Red Cross to run the 120th Boston Marathon as a member of the Team Red Cross-an official charity partner of the B.A.A. Boston Marathon.
As many of you know, I have been an avid runner for many years, and have developed a true passion for the sport. Running has enriched my life in many ways! I have grown physically, emotionally, and spiritually as well as having developed several close friendships along the way. It is time for me to give back to others the many blessings I have received. My plan is to run for a charity that has given many years of hope, help, and healing to others in their greatest time of need. The American Red Cross is that charity.
Toward that end, I have committed to raise $7,500.00 to support the American Red Cross programs and services. This money will be used for disaster relief, service to the Armed Forces, lifesaving blood, and safety training.
I ran the New York Marathon in 2005 for an experience of a lifetime. In 2016, not only will I get to experience another milestone in my life, but also have the opportunity to help others in this journey. For every dollar given to the Red Cross .91 cent is invested in Red Cross humanitarian services. Funds that are raised by Team Red Cross benefit the American Red Cross of Massachusetts and beyond. As recently as September, volunteers were sent to South Carolina to aid flood victims forced out of their homes.
Please join me in supporting the American Red Cross by making a donation today.
Thank you for your support!
