You know my passion - partnering with villages in Ghana! And I need your help...
The villagers of Agotime Agordeke were prepared for our visit. They had molded almost 1000 bricks to show us how determined they were to work hard to build their new school. They don't want a hand-out, they want to learn how to work together more effectively to make their children's lives better. They gave us bottled water, fresh coconuts, and also the request to free them from walking 6 kilometers to the nearest clean water. Hours and hours each day are spent gathering water instead of farming, cooking or being with family. Can Adanu help them?
So I am asking you - can WE help them? A polytank (to store rain water), a concrete base and taps costs $3000, with Agordeke providing sand, water and labor. To finish the school they have already started planning for costs $26,000. Desks for the school (yup, those are in short supply also!) and teaching and learning materials are another $3500. That's my goal - $32,500.
Please donate what you can and forward this link to your friends - send an email, post on Facebook, Twitter, your lunchroom at work. It isn't all that often that you are faced with a load of bricks and a hopeful face - together we can turn the bricks into a school and hope into a smile!
