Ainsley's Angels of America is super excited to have Ambassador Vera spreading awareness through activism and educating as an advocate for our mission throughout Alabama!
What does this mean? Well, enjoy this video!
Learn about the life event that inspired Angel Ambassador Vera to make this a reality:
My husband and I have 12 year old twin girls, Adlen and Kylie. Kylie has cerebral palsy and is unable to walk, but through Kylie's life I have learned to "choose joy" and after hearing Kylie say she wanted to run, I decided to make that happen. We ran our first race on January 26, 2013 using a borrowed stroller from a family friend and have been running races together ever since.
A week later, as we were lined up at the starting line of the New Orleans Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon, a group known as "Ainsleys Angels" lined up around us with an energy, positivity and determination that was intoxicating! This was the first I had heard of this ministry and was completely blown away by what they represent! As a mom who has dreams and hopes the best for my children, I know with Kylie I have to be her voice and make dreams come true.
Our lives were forever changed at the starting line of our first half marathon when we were introduced to the Ainsley's Angels ministry. We were overwhelmed by their passion for insuring that children, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities are included in the thrill of road races. The excitement that surrounded the Captains and the Angels before, during and after the race was something I wanted our family to be apart of. With Kylie's desire to run and my desire to serve others like Kylie in our community, we were put in touch with Ainsley's Dad and today, Ainsley's Angels in Alabama is a reality!
Together, with the help of our community and the spirit of the Ainsley's Angels family, we can make a positive impact in people's lives by sharing Ainsley's story of hope, inclusion, and love of Jesus Christ. What an amazing journey this has been!
