THE STORY:
READ DETAILS HERE
Spring has finally arrived here (officially anyways) in Wisconsin and with it, so have the birds!! To celebrate this glorious event, and to raise money to ensure that our Wisconsin birds continue to return, Lauren and I will once again be participating in the Rainforest Biodiversity Group's annual Bird-a-Thon. The Rainforest Biodiversity Group is a Madison based non-profit that works hard to protect the tropical habitat that many of our Wisconsin breeding birds use during our long, cold winter months.
Donors who pledge $50 or more are eligible to receive a free Bird-a-Thon t-shirt. Be sure to provide your t-shirt size and shipping address in the “Comment, In Memory, Tribute (Optional): ” box on the Donation Page.
If you're interested in tagging along for a segment of the day or for the entire day for that matter, you are more than welcome, we’re planning on biking and birding in and around Horicon Marsh. Or better yet, sign up as a birder (you’ll get a free event T-shirt!) and help collect donations. If you raise the most donations, you’ll win a $250 Visa Gift Card! Also, the birder with the highest number of species will receive a North Face lumbar pack.
Funds raised during the 2013 Bird – A – Thon will primarily go towards our Small Grants Program. In 2012, Osa Conservation was the recipient of $2,000 to help build a Turtle Hatchery, where they will protect and release up to 10, 000 sea turtles annually. Click here to learn more about last year’s winner.
All contributions are tax-deductible, since the Rainforest Biodiversity Group is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Thanks and hopefully see you in The Marsh!
