BENEFITING: TY LOUIS CAMPBELL FOUNDATION INC
ORGANIZER: TY LOUIS CAMPBELL FOUNDATION INC
EVENT: 4th Annual Tyathlon
EVENT DATE: Sep 17, 2016
Ty was...IS my son, and it has been nearly 4 years since I've been without him. Most of you remember Ty as the boy with the contagious smile and warm heart, I remember him as my first born son and the love of my life. I'll never forget all the unnecessary suffering he endured both from the brain cancer as well as his toxic treatments. Ty will always be my hero. I have raced many times for Ty and trained with him before he was sick. I was lucky enough to carry him across the finish line of the NYC Marathon on my 40th Birthday, but now I can only race and train with him in spirit.
Life does not get any easier as time goes on, I am just thankful for the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, all of its volunteers and supporters. The Foundation keeps Ty alive while funding groundbreaking research for pediatric cancer to help find less invasive treatments for the next Ty Louis Campbell.
I ask that you please DONATE to my page and help us continue fulfilling our mission and I will keep racing as long as I can put one foot in front of the other.
This is just a glimpse of Cindy's blog that runs though my mind daily and it cripples me every time:
"Lou and I gave Ty a warm bath. Lou washed his head, I washed his feet. We kissed his skin ten thousand times. There were as many tears in that tub as there was bathwater, but it was beautiful. He was so beautiful. Every inch of his body. We dressed him in his white suit with a blue pocket square (his favorite color). We put on all of his jewelry and he is holding his rosary beads from his christening. We cut his hair for us and we cut ours for him. We filled his pockets with a blue lollipop from his favorite girls at the bank, a chocolate gold coin, a 2 dollar bill from his great grandfather and some extra money for candy. My dad put something special in his hand and we have a lot of other things that we will include in his casket tomorrow. Ty is taking lots of his "loot" with him. He is all dressed up for heaven".
I ask you to please take a minute to click the link below of Ty's timeline to remind yourself what the reality of care is and how we can all make it better.
