While we throw away 40% of food produced, 1 in 7 goes hungry. Founded as a direct response to the disconnect between food waste, hunger and environmental sustainability, 412 Food Rescue works to eliminate hunger and promote a healthy environment by rescuing surplus food about to go to waste and redirecting to nonprofits that serve those who are food insecure. Transported by a growing network of volunteer #FoodRescueHeroes, 412 Food Rescue directly transfers perfectly good food from food donors (grocery stores, wholesalers, restaurants, etc) to nonprofit partners that serve those who are food insecure. Join the 2018 Pittsburgh Marathon 412 Food Rescue Marathon Heroes to support the fight against #hunger and #foodwaste in Pittsburgh!
