In less than two weeks, I am going to be embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime year-long trip to Tanzania to pursue an incredible opportunity through the 2Seeds Network. I will be living in a small village called Bombo Majimoto, literally off the map in Northeastern Tanzania, in sub-Saharan Africa, leading a project in agricultural development and food security.
To raise money, I am committing to write a letter from Bombo Majimoto, Tanzania to anyone who donates to the project. Swahili haikus, drawings, news of the project--if you have any preference just ask!
The mission of the Bombo Majimoto Project is to facilitate cooperation among the people of Bombo Majimoto to work together to increase crop yields and food security in this community of subsistence farmers. In its early phases, the Bombo Majimoto Project is working to organize local farmers to cultivate high value crops during the dry seasons using improved farming techniques, and to market produce cooperatively in order to access better prices and more stable markets.
I know that this project can effect lasting, significant change in the community through sustainable initiatives and a focus on people as creative and capable agents of progress. I believe that my work in Bombo Majimoto will advance the dignity, stability, health and hope of all involved.
Please consider making a donation to the Bombo Majimoto project and my work there. All donations directly benefit the project. Find out more at www.2Seeds.org/bombomajimoto.
Thank you so much for your support!
