BENEFITING: International Rescue Committee
On February 4th I'll have very peacefully arrived at my 24th birthday. I recognize the freedoms and comforts that have allowed me to make it this far, so to celebrate I would like to make sanctuary even a little bit more possible for those forced to flee war-torn countries with their lives in tow. Children and infants especially have been forced to grow up unforgivably fast as they attempt to survive each passing day, so it is well past my time to stop resisting the adult-world.
The International Rescue Committee orchestrates countless efforts to offer reconstructive aid to our neighbors in dilapidated nations, and to facilitate resettlement from homelands too dangerous to stay in. They also help refugees navigate healthcare systems and finding employment in their new homes. Our new administration has been horrifyingly productive, and efforts to close U.S. borders to refugees specifically from Syria, as well as other Middle Eastern and African countries, are well under way.
Please consider helping me reach (or surpass) a goal of $2400 by the end of February. In 2015 alone, IRC funding helped bring over 21 million people primary and reproductive health care, 2.6 million people clean drinking water and sanitation, and over 1.3 million children schooling and other educational opportunities. Let's make the human experience a more humane experience.
