The 22 in 22 Challenge was created to raise awareness about the military suicide crisis. All funds raised through the Challenge are donated to Stop Soldier Suicide, the nation’s first veteran-founded-and-led 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to preventing military suicide.
The 22 in 22 Challenge will kick off on Sept. 11, 2017. Teams from across the U.S. will walk, run, bike, wheel, march, or do yoga (or another activity of their choosing) every day for 22 days to raise funds and awareness about the military suicide crisis and the work that Stop Soldier Suicide is doing to empower the military community for life.
Stop Soldier Suicide is a registered 501(c)3 and a Gold GuideStar™ nonprofit. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
How can I help?
You can either start a team, join a team, or simply make a donation.
How do I set up a team?
Welcome. You will be guided on how to set up a team (Start Your Own Fundraiser). You will create a name for the team, a financial goal (we suggest a minimum of $222), and a note about why you are doing this (motivate your future teammates and donors). You will then be asked to submit a photo. If you are part of an organized team or school, this is a great spot for your logo or team photo. Next, you will be given an opportunity to share on Facebook, Twitter and an initial group of emails. Lastly, you will be given a “link” that you can share in future emails and fundraising with your team.
Once your team is set up, you will be given the opportunity to establish timeframes, upload photos and video, and to connect to your team through messaging.
What are helpful ways to make my goal?
1. Personally invite people to join your team and to do 22in22, beginning September 11th. Each teammate should make a donation.
2. Have the teammates each ask someone to support them by hitting the “donate” button.
3. Personally ask people to donate directly to your team if they can’t do 22in22.
4. Spread the work via social media.
5. Create a little competition, spark some teamwork, and have some fun!
6. Send out thank you notes and encouragement to the team!
How do we wrap up our campaign?
Although 22 days after September 11th is October 3rd, we will likely wrap up the campaign on October 30th to allow for some stragglers to finish up.
Please alert us on our 22in22:Bringing Hope to Heroes page on Facebook that you are done! We’ll celebrate your success nationally during the month of November. You should celebrate locally with your team… don’t wait for us!
