Every day, approximately 22 veterans and one active duty soldier take their own lives. That is over 8,000 per year. That is over 130,000 since September 11th.
22in22 began as a way to draw awareness to the issue and to help fund the non-profit, Stop Soldier Suicide, Inc. They provide help to at-risk military and their families.
We ask you, as you do your 22in22 to helpusraiseatleast$3000 and to encourage others, by formingteams, to do the same. $300 allows us to support one vet for one year. The idea is for you to walk, run, hop, skip or jump 22 mile in 22 days, in honor of our heroes. Or perhaps you have a hero of your own.
And don't be afraid to be creative. Some people pray, do yoga or meditate for 22 days. It's your challenge...its your choice! If you collect donations or would prefer sending your donation directly to the non-profit, contact Jason Roncoroni, the Executive Director for Stop Soldier Suicide at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your support. Together we can change the world.
