BENEFITING: American Cancer Society
Hello everyone! My name is Dana Qualy and I'm looking to raise $2100 for the American Cancer Society so we can have more birthdays in the world. In October 2016, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. From November until April of 2017, I received chemotherapy to get rid of the cancer lurking in my lymph nodes. Then, in May 2017, I received the news that I was officially in full remission!
With life events such as this, it gives a person a new perspective. During my chemo treatment was when I decided to start $2100 for 21 Years. You see, I had my 21st birthday on May 8th and to celebrate my freedom from cancer, I asked my friends and family to donate to this fundraiser. So far, $793 out of the $2100 have been raised. That's 38% of the entire goal which is so incredibly amazing! This community has not only left me speechless but eternally grateful as well.
But we can't stop at 38%. People continue to be diagnosed with varying stages of cancer. Parents, friends, children all feel the effects of cancer. It's not just the person who is diagnosed with cancer. The whole community is affected by the diagnosis as well. And if that person doesn't make it to their next birthday? The whole community feels that too.
So help me to provide the American Cancer Society with as much support as they need so that they can help communities all over the world celebrate more birthdays and keep their communities in tact. There's a couple ways you can do that:
1) Make sure to share this fundraiser with everyone you know.
2) If you are able to do so, please donate (thank you in advance)!
There's only one way we're going to find solutions to such a multi-dimensional, horrible disease such as cancer. And that's together.
