2018 GIANT Bananagrams Tournament
EVENT DATE: Feb 24, 2018
Support youth in the creative writing community and participate in Greater Cleveland’s only GIANT Bananagrams Tournament! Lake Erie Ink: a writing space for youth is a non-profit organization that provides creative expression opportunities and academic support to youth in the Greater Cleveland community. Located in Cleveland Heights, Lake Erie Ink serves 3,000 youth annually from a broad socio-economic, cultural and academic range, using creative writing to increase literacy skills.
On Saturday, February 24th, 2018, Lake Erie Ink will bring this love of language and creative word play to its 6th annual GIANT Bananagrams Tournament. Inspired by the fast-paced, Scrabble-like word game, Bananagrams brings together teams of up to 5 players to compete on a 30x30 ft. board in front of a large audience and narrated by a guest emcee. This event requires creative thinking and encourages teamwork and collaboration as groups scramble to be the first to turn their letters into words!
How you can help:
(1) Sign up your group of 2-5 people to play. Teams that raise $500 will be entered into the tournament. Deadline to register your team is February 1, 2018. There is no limit to the number of people who can donate to a team.
(2) Can't play, but still want to help? Start your very own crowdrise fundraiser to help us reach our goal. All proceeds from this event will go directly to ensuring that youth in the Greater Cleveland community have a place at Lake Erie Ink where they can explore their creativity and find their voice.
