Colorado Young Leaders
June 16, 2016
On June 30th, I'll be joining five teens and other volunteers on a mentoring wilderness expedition with Big City Mountaineers for seven days. We will be heading to Medicine Bow National Forest. I have joined the Change a Life Campaign to help sponsor a teen I'll be in the backcountry with. (I will hopefully know soon which youth organization I will be with).
I am excited for this opportunity and grateful to be volunteering with an organzation and community like Big City Mountaineers. I was fortunate to grow up with an experiential/outdoor education program. The experiences, challenges, and mentors have forever impacted my life and helped shape the person I am today. Having the chance to give back and possibly making an impact on a teen as a mentor is amazing.
A Big City Mountaineer expedition costs $10,000 (or $1,000 per person). I truly believe in this mission and it unites my passion for the outdoors with mentorship. Because I feel so strongly about this – I'm sharing much more about this than I typically would. My main goal is to build awareness – please help spread the word about Big City Mountaineers! But, if you share the same passion and want to donate towards this expedition and organization – I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
