BENEFITING: VanderCook College of Music
ORGANIZER: VanderCook College of Music
EVENT: 2015 Chicago Marathon
EVENT DATE: Oct 11, 2015
Hi all! My name is Natalie Grasso and it is my pleasure to be running to raise vital funds for my late grandfather, Salvatore Grasso. All of the funds that I raise go directly toward my Grandfather's music classroom at The Vandercook College of music. Remember that any gift size that you make supporting me is greatly appreciated and is tax deductible. Your name will also be showcased on a donor plaque that will be in my grandfather's classroom.
Please allow me to tell you about my amazing grandfather. He devoted his life to music education. He taught music for almost 40 years. He impacted thousands of lives through the power of music education and made incredible men and women out of high school students.
My grandfather was my number one fan. I cannot tell you a single basketball, soccer, volleyball, or theater production he didn't attend. If you needed someone to support you in a big event it was him, he'd never let you down. For every mile I run I will think of every event he supported. All of the time he devoted to me, my family, and his students.
As some of you may know, running a marathon is much more than 26.2 miles. It is all of the hours of trianing in the months before that allow a person to run that distance. Every time I lace up my shoes I will think of you all. Everyone who will support me through out this time.
A little bit about myself -- I am 23 living in St. Louis, MO. I have been running since high school and have always enjoyed it. I have completed three half marathons, but this will be my first full marathon. I am currently working toward my second bachelor's degree in nursing. You can probably find me running through Forest Park with my boyfriend's dog, Clifford.
Thank you for reading this and donating to my Grandfather's classroom. I can assure you that he is up in Heaven thinking how crazy I am for doing this.
Here goes nothing!
