The Story

EVENT DATE: Feb 28, 2015

DEADLINE TO GIVE: Feb 27, 2015

SPECIAL WEATHER UPDATE:

I know this is a polar plunge and I am all for freezin' for a reason but these record cold temperatures have frozen our pool!  Right now we anticipate 6-7 inches of ice will have formed in the pool by this coming Saturday and we can't plunge through that!  So, we have to postpone until the following Saturday, which is February 28.  Same time, same place! Hey, look at it this way, more time to raise money and spiffy up that costume!

The Polar Plunge is a family-friendly event held each year at the Asheville Racquet Club South that features around 30 costumed jumpers taking the icy plunge from the diving board into the outdoor pool - all to support Meals on Wheels and the 500 homebound seniors who depend on our services! Become a Polar Bear and take the plunge! Start by collecting funds from family, friends, business associates and others to sponsor your jump. To participate, each plunger should raise a minimum of $150 which is the cost of one month of meals for a homebound senior. Do you have what it takes to win the title of "Top Polar Bear" by raising the most money?!?!
