BENEFITING: CAMBRIDGE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
HELP EVERYONE ACCESS FRESH LOCAL FOOD!
Help us raise funds to provide farm fresh food!
Since 2014, the Cambridge SNAP Match Coalition* has successfully raised funds to provide extra funding to shoppers at three Cambridge farmers markets. Shoppers who are purchasing fresh food with SNAP benefits (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as “food stamps”) are eligible for Cambridge SNAP Match funds up to $15 in match per shop, enabling them to buy $30 in local food for just $15 in SNAP funds. Also, the Healthy Incentives Program (HIP)**, administered by the state for SNAP recipients, provides extra funds for fruits and vegetables, bringing even more shoppers to the Farmers Markets, and providing more food to people.
The SNAP Match funds are available to three markets: The Central Square Farmers Market and the Harvard Market in summer and the Cambridge Community Center, Cambridge Winter Farmers Market.
Will you help us do this? Thank You!
