BENEFITING: LAZAREX CANCER FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: LAZAREX CANCER FOUNDATION
Three years ago, I started tasting this hobby of running. Before I had practiced other sports but running never cross my mind and I even never thought that it would reward me and bring me such a good time and personal feelings. After my first half marathon in 2013, I committed to go a step further and get training for my first marathon challenge in Seville, the city that saw me born and grow. By that time of my life, running was the perfect way-out that I found to balance and recover myself during the hardest proof in my life: the loss of my mum, best friend and inseparable comrade, due to breast cancer. When I finished the race I felt such full of satisfaction that even nowadays I can close my eyes and I still remember the race as if I was running again each of those 42km; those last minutes of the race entering the stadium along with my inseparable partner rustling beside me. I remembered looking at the blue sky and feeling like I was diving in the deep blue ocean, breathing each second as it was the last one and pushed by an interior strength that it was completely unknown to me until then. But there I was, I felt the strongest woman capable of everything and even though to be able to overcome that hardest moment of my life. Everything was amazing, an endless list of sensations and feelings really hard to put into words. That’s why since then I knew that this marathon was not gonna be the last one.
Now I am living in the United States (Mississippi), and after a year without running due to the great fortune of being mummy, I decided to put another goal on the table and to run the New York Marathon in November 2015. This marathon is very special and will have a different personal meaning for me although my mum will be there again. I run NY marathon as part of the ‘Team for Life” Lazarex Cancer Foundation as it deserves all my respect for the amazing work they do with cancer patients and their families, improving the quality of their lives always under the prism of hope and the dignified struggle and power of love.
Besides, Lazarex Cancer Foundation is the only non-profit providing assistance to end stage cancer patients with costs for FDA clinical trial participation AND helping them to identify their trial options. Participating is free, traveling to & from the clinical trial is NOT. What if a tank of gas is all that stood in the way for you or a loved one to receive treatment? To date they have extended the lives of their cancer patients through FDA approved clinical trials by 185,185 days (that's 507 years!) These are patients who were told nothing else could be done. They have currently helped patients with 88 different types of cancer, have placed patients into 399 different clinical trials & have patients ranging in age from 4 to 86 years. As well as from all ethnic backgrounds. Cancer doesn't discriminate & neither does Lazarex. They help patients of all ages & with all cancers access today's advanced medical breakthroughs."
My goal is to donate $ 2,500 to this foundation through my personal contribution and from friends, family and whoever wants to contribute. To make donations just click on the link below and then click on my photo. Many thanks in advance!!

WE HELP CANCER PATIENTS, WITH ALL FORMS OF CANCER, TO ACCESS POTENTIALLY LIFESAVING MEDICINES TODAY THROUGH FDA CLINICAL TRIAL PARTICIPATION.
"We provide resources for cancer patients who have been told they have no other options, but who are not yet done with their journey in life and refuse to give up now."
People who are undergoing cancer treatments are quickly depleted physically, financially and emotionally. A final diagnosis of "terminal" or "end stage" cancer is devastating. All hope is lost and all too often patients are lost in the gap that exists from "get your affairs in order" to hospice/end of life. Lazarex helps bridge that gap.
Lazarex Cancer Foundation builds a bridge to hope dignity and life for cancer patients and their families. We provide financial assistance to defray the costs associated with patient participation in FDA clinical trials. Additionally, we help patients identify their clinical trial options and provide community education and outreach services.
We help patients of all ages and walks of life, with all forms of cancer.
We help patients take advantage of medical breakthroughs today, because they may not have a tomorrow.
We believe that the size of a patients's bank account should not stand between them and the choices they make or the treatments they need.
We provide resources to fill the gap that exisits between when a patient is told they have no more hope and when they are truly done with their journey in life.
WE HAVE WITNESSED MIRACLES. We have helped cancer patients recapture their quality of life. We have seen a grandmother hold her first grandchild, a dad coach Little League Baseball for one more season, a young man fall in love and become an Eagle Scout. We have watched pain-ridden, emaciated souls return to fulfilling lives with family, friends, passion and love.
Have we saved them all? No. Have we changed the course of their lives and given them moments of grace that they otherwise would not have had? Yes. Have they changed the course of our lives? Definitely.
You can help give the gift of life to cancer patients in need by donating your time, money, in-kind products and services, your skills, talents and expertise. Your gifts will go a long way toward helping patients and their families receive the care and attention they need.
