2014 Mites Hockey 4 Childhood Cancer benefiting Smashing Walnuts

Welcome to the First Annual Smashing Walnuts Hockey Tournament to raise awareness and money for Gabriella Miller’s foundation, Smashing Walnuts.
The tournament will be held at the Ashburn Ice House located at 21595 Smith Switch Road, Ashburn, Virginia 20147. The tournament will take place from 6:15pm to 7:45pm. Each player on each team will receive a medal. In addition, we will be holding a silent auction, raffle, and a 50/50 drawing. Some of the items in the auctions include an autographed puck by John Carlson, Capitals tickets, restuarant gift cards, and more!
The Smashing Walnuts Foundation was started by 10-year old Gabriella Miller and her family after Gabriella was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor that was the size of a walnut.
Gabriella smashed walnuts with a frying pan to symbolize "smashing" her tumor. Gabriella quickly became a global advocate for children with cancer. She raised nearly $300,000 for children's cancer charities before starting the Smashing Walnuts Foundation, a non-profit whose mission is to raise awareness of the prevalence of childhood cancer and to raise funds for childhood brain cancer research. doctor that received her brain.
