I was born in New York City and moved with my family to Los Angeles when I was ten. Five years later (May 25th, 1979), my dad Donald, the love of my life, died in the infamous American Airlines DC-10 airplane crash just beyond Chicago's O'Hare field; all 271 people on board were killed. I feel that life alterting experience led me to OUR HOUSE 26 years later. I was so pleased to find a community like OUR HOUSE, a place where people understood and respected the grieving process. It was my honor and privilege to be a group leader for 8 years, facilitating conversation with dozens of 8-12 year old children. I hold each child close to my heart and try to help them on their journey of grief and hope. I have also served for the past nine years on the OUR HOUSE Board of Directors and work tirelessly in many ways to support and contribute to the agency's mission. My husband Greg also supports OUR HOUSE and has served on the Advisory Board for the past four years. Please support this meaningful cause that is close to my heart with a contribution in any amount.
On Sunday, April 27, 2014 OUR HOUSE will be hosting the annual Run For Hope – a day dedicated to honoring the memory and celebrating the lives of those close to us who have died. The Run For Hope is a day to share grief, loss and love; providing the community with a sense of hope and connection.
We believe that grief is a natural reaction after the death of someone close. OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center was founded on the premise that grievers need understanding, support, and connection. If you or someone you care about is grieving, we are here to help.
