As many of you know, I shifted my focus earlier this year to lead the 1 Million Project, a massive philanthropic initiative at Sprint. This work is important and I hope you will consider supporting the effort. Here's our story.

The internet has transformed the way many of us operate, communicate and connect on a daily basis. Sadly, it has also created a gap between families that can afford home internet access and the 5 million families with school-aged children that can't.

For those living paycheck to paycheck, food, shelter and utilities understandably take a higher priority over internet access.But because 70% of teachers are now assigning homework requiring online access, connectivity isn't a luxury — it's an absolute necessity for students. To help close the Homework Gap, the Sprint Foundation with support from Sprint has launched the 1Million Project. With an ambitious goal of providing 1 million devices and free connectivity to high school students across America who do not have home internet access, we’re aiming to change the trajectory of these students’ lives.
