M O S E S METROPOLITAN ORGANIZING STRATEGY ENABLING STRENGTH wrote -
"I can assure you that what has been done here today will serve as a source of inspiration for all the freedom-loving people of this nation."
- Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr, at Cobo Hall before the Great March on Detroit (23 June 1963).
At its annual Martin Luther King Day Banquet, MOSES rekindles the spirit of Dr. King's message to the people of Detroit. We come together with the common goal of strengthening our metropolitan region through robust civic participation.
During this banquet, we honor friends and colleagues who have made an extraordinary commitment to MOSES, and to advancing social justice in metro Detroit. These leaders work every day to promote a higher quality of life for every metro Detroit resident, including those currently living on the margins of our society.
Each year, MOSES provides complimentary tickets to dedicated leaders who are unable to make the financial contribution. This fundraiser is intended to offset the costs associated with these tickets.
All funds raised at the annual banquet support MOSES' annual activities, including the development and training of grassroots leaders throughout metro Detroit.
