Over the past ten years, the 9/11 Tribute Center has become a destination of personal remembrance, educating the public on the historical significance and continuing global impact of 9/11, as well as highlighting the recovery and rebuilding of Lower Manhattan. The Tribute Center is moving to a new location to expand exhibits and programs to meet the growing visitation to Lower Manhattan, and to continue support for the 9/11 community.
The expanded 9/11 Tribute Center will include exhibits depicting the events of 9/11, the response, recovery and rebuilding and global outreach and service, and will encourage students and visitors to engage in acts of service. Exhibitions will offer visitors an in-depth exploration of the personal stories of the 9/11 community – family members, survivors, first responders, rescue and recovery workers, volunteers and Lower Manhattan workers and residents – learning about their experiences, how they responded to the challenges they faced and how they were inspired to engage in acts of service.
The 9/11 Tribute Center is launching a ’15 for 15’ campaign, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of September 11th and celebrate the humanitarianism, civic engagement and public service demonstrated by the 9/11 community and those inspired by the attacks to make a difference in their local, national and global communities. This campaign will support Tribute’s expansion and educational mission
