I will be running my second half marathon on April 22, 2018...the Coastal Delaware Half Marathon. I've chosen to make my miles count by raising money for the One Love Foundation. The money that is raised will help bring the One Love Escalation Workshop to more schools and communities in order to educate young people about healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviors. 94% of us will never perpetrate violence against our partner, yet 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men are in a violent relationship in his or her lifetime because we stay silent about this issue. Please consider making a donation to help raise awareness and continue the conversation about relationship abuse. Thank you! -Kelly
About One Love: The One Love Foundation is working to end relationship violence by educating, empowering, and activating young people in a movement for change. One Love was created in 2010 to honor Yeardley Love, a University of Virginia lacrosse player who was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend just three weeks before graduation. After her death, Yeardley’s family and friends were stunned to learn the incredible prevalence of relationship violence; namely that one in three women will be in an abusive relationship in her lifetime and that young women ages 16-24 are at 3X greater risk. As time passed, they came to realize that if they’d had better information about what an unhealthy and potentially dangerous relationship looked like, they might have been able to intervene, changing Yeardley's outcome entirely. That's why we're here. We hope you'll join us in taking a stand.
