BENEFITING: American Cancer Society
THE STORY:
Kathy Alice Monroe passed away last September in her second fight with Brain Cancer. My mother was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in 2012. Through Chemotherapy and Radiation, she overcame the cancer in 2013 and was cancer FREE until the beginning of 2016. The cancer came back and she finally lost the battle on September 28th, 2017. My mother was an incredible person, a loving mother to me and a loving wife to my dad. She was a best friend to many people. As mom fought this battle, I noticed who really loved her and who provided for her. Her friends came over and took her shopping and took her to movies. My dad was amazing, taking care of her no matter what. I have a huge amount of respect for him. I did not see much support from the hospital... instead, I saw that the American Cancer Society provided my mother with countless resources. From wigs to emotional support, they were there. My mother's battle with cancer is over and she is in heaven. There are many other people fighting this battle. I want to support the ACS as they are an organization that cares and provides for people like my mom. Please help me support this great organization! I'm running a 10k in her honor and would love if you could help me raise money for the American Cancer Society!

Kathy was my best friend for 44 years. We made annual trips to the beach every year without fail for 42 consecutive years. The only year we missed was 2012 when she was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer may have been caused by that Pepsi she drank at a Taco Bell in 1986. She always said Pepsi causes cancer. LOL 3 years ago
